If time stood still
Where would we be with reality?
Would your coffee still get cold?
Would we all still get old?
Would the river of time dry up
Would your love for me cease?
Or would it prevail
Never to be stale
I remember the day we met
It was love at first site
Alas I will never forget
The bluebells in the wood
Were in bloom
The water meadow so green
I fell for you then my love
Arm in arm we walked home under the light of the moon
Besotted by your beauty
Intoxicated with lust
Ever the romantic
And full of trust
They say youth is wasted on the young
But boy did we have fun
In my try light years in my old arm chair
I recall it all
I don’t regret a single day
If only you again could pass my way
One day soon we will be together my love
Forever and in your arms I will lay.
